11.am prompt and despite the uncertain weather hundreds of ladies of all ages were on the start line for the 5k circuit of Towneley Park, united in the objective of raising money to support Cancer Research. The bright pink colours of the Cancer awareness T Shirts brought a splash of colour to a grey day but nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the participants for the cause.
As the runners, joggers, strollers and even pram pushers crossed the finish line, they were greeted by the Smith Sutcliffe Team with our supply of over 1000 bananas to provide much needed refreshment.
